Okay, I was wondering if I could add an additional 3" body lift to my 2002 toyota 4runner without making it look silly. By saying "silly", i mean tall and skinny. I already have a 2.5" leveling kit/suspension spacer lift. I have 265/70 R16's, BFG All Terrains on my vehicle, so around 31 inch tires. They are going to stay on there considering I had just bought them before even thinking of lifting my vehicle. And I know body lifts aren't the BEST way to go. I will certainly post pics of my current vehicle. Oh, and I have 1.25" wheel spacers so i am currently at a wider stance. I also will be purchasing new rims which will extend my width factor another .5".

If you have pictures of a 4Runner with a 5"-6" lift, PLEASE POST THEM!

i wouldnt go higher than 2" otherwise youll get the low hanging frame nissan look

I say your runner looks great as is. If you plan on going higher you'll need bigger tires to fill the gaps otherwise it will look funny and stupid.

What Blake means is that with a 3" body lift your frame will show alot.

I agree with streetlancer, i think it looks pretty good already. If you go taller you will definitely need bigger/wider tires. Plus, considering your original lift is a spacer lift, if you add more spacer lift, all you have is a really tall, top heavy, unstable ride that still has stock suspension articulation.

@ streetlancer: Right. And I wanted to go with a Bilstein lift system but its a little pricey for me right now. But yeah, theres nothing worse that being able to see straight through your wheel wells. I have heard of these pads that block this gap though and have heard that people wouldnt be able to tell its a body lift unless they get up close to it.

@ team_gforce: That was my fear all along. I want to swap out my factory shocks and coils altogether. I see you have the 3" toytec lift. Now I know them and Revtek have full suspension swaps. This may be the route I take and I also am wondering if I could get a Toytec lift and keep my Daystar spacers on them.

Looks like you're already pushing the goofy boundary running a lift and stock size tires. Just sell those and pick up a new set. Craigslist/forums are your friend.

I think that most people only do 1-2 inches even with 285's, and I know that some with the 315's/35" tires have gotten away with only 2" of body lift.

3" is overkill in my mind for the 3rd gen

x2 im with safari man i wouldnt do the bl id save awhile and do away with the kit you have now and go with a 6in suspension the will take you to the height you wana go and it will all be for the better. Better flex, ride, look (with bigger tires of course). Theres my .02

Threads like this one is why Yotatech is made fun of on other forums sites.

Dont do a body lift. Get bigger tires. Save up for real suspension. If you wanted your truck sky high you should have bought a 1/2 ton chevy. Thats all that needs to be said in this thread.

Ditto, dont go body lift you have 31's, you dont even need more lift to run 35's just cut and pound till they fit.

I like the 3" susp/3" body with small tires. It lets people know you mean business in the parking lot.

So I took opinions and am STILL working on her, but it has come a long way, i do have 33's on it now and 1.5 wheel spacers with a much better stance.
