LBJ 4 bolt torque spec confusion
I 'm changing my LBJ's this weekend. I have spent the last hour looking for the torque specs, and now i'm more confused.
Some say 37 ft #
Some say that's misprint and it's 59 ft #
Then i found this.
There are TWO different torque specs for the 4 bolts:
50 (510, 37) *1
80 (820, 59) *2
N·m (kgf·cm, ft·lbf) : Specified torque
*1 w/ Lower ball joint protector
*2 w/o Lower ball joint protector
What is a ball joint protector, and why would it affect the torque?
Then to add to the confusion i looked up metric torque specs and found a torque chart that says a 10 mm 8.8 bolt should be 37 ft #
I wounder if the 59 ft # some say is really N*m ?
59 N*m converted to ft # is 43.5 ft #. Which is close to the chart. .
Thanks For the Help

I'm wondering if the 59 ft # is a misprint too and it should read 59 N*m. Ever torque spec chart i look at states it should be closer to 37 ft #.
Thanks
Thanks
