Smile Just saying Hi

Just saying hi to everyone. My dad just gave me his truck because it is pretty old and he didn't want to deal with it. I'll be doing a lot of maintenance over break, so I was looking up information online. Myself, I'm a 1st year at UCD, and I love cars. I took auto in HS and learned a lot about cars. I learned the rest from the internet!

The truck is a 1990 or 1991 2wd truck, with the 22R-E motor and a 4-speed transmission. The tranny is busted, and won't shift into 1st or 3rd so I drive around with 2nd and 4th. The door locks are broken, and it needs a new set of tires.

I guess that's enough information for now as I'm just saying hi.

Here is my list of stuff to do. I know how the search function works (I post on rx7club) but if anyone has anything to add, it is appreciated!

-Coolant Flush
-Diff fluid change
-Tranny fluid change
-Bleed brakes (done)
-Fuel filter (bought new one, found old one but it's a real PITA)
-Oil change (I did it last week but I checked the dipstick and oil is dirty again so I'll probably do another one)
-New tires + alignment (mucho $$$, looking at tirerack.com)
-Rebuild transmission (also $$$, or find a 5speed at junkyard)
-Door locks ($$$)
-Wash Wax Clean

Future plans
-Tach
-LC Engineering header
-Muffler (probably Borla)
-New suspension bits

I would recommend buying a Haynes manual to help you with the basic maintenance stuff.
