Actually the LED tails he put on his old truck were 4th gen lights made to fit the 3rd gens...
And what ARE you going to do with the wheels? Go with those nice black wheels with the Texas Star? those would look good!
I actually saw those the other day on a truck, they really do look good.

Yeah what are you going to do with those wheels? As soon as your ready to ditch them for something big and shiny please give me 1st dibs. I love those stock wheels and think they look better than most after-market wheels.

Haha yeah it comes stock with LED tails, but yeah I'm going to put a different set of 22"s on it, actually here's a pic of the rims I'll be getting.
Unfornately the Urban Runner's only come in V6.

V8 swap?
i dig any 5 spoke wheel, i'm sure what ever you do it will be in good taste and make it look better, you always do tasteful upgrades. you and a select few on here make me UBER envious with what you do, but i'm tryin'! i just need a couple weekends of uninterrupted work to finish what i have on my plate so far, and i'll finally have some progress to show off.
please do keep in touch on the 3rd gen board Brian!

They will just put that extra 3 or 4 thousand on the final price of the new 4 runner. They could give him $25,000 for the old one and sell the new one to him for $45,000. They are in it to make money. They will never lose money. no matter how bad they want to sell the new 4-runner

The only problem I see is the resale value of any SUV will be depreciating faster than any other time in history and in a few years that truck will be upside down in value real quick when gas prices go over $5/gal.
It's a damn nice truck tho'.

True, now IS the time to buy though. I know i have always wanted a big ol bronco, people are starting to sell them for cheap now and if i find the right deal i might grab one just because it is big and mean looking and i live in Texas. lol

Actually if you own an SUV that you stil owe over $25k on it's the time to sell since anytime in the future will be a buyers market for mid to large SUVs.
Older Broncos have pretty much bottomed out in price but all SUVs in nice shape will hold a certain value but you don't want to be paying on something that's depreciating faster than you are paying it off unless money isn't an issue which would be nice.
I just saw an '04 Sport 4Runner with about 70k on it go for $14k. I paid that on mine 3 and a half years ago with over 90k. Definetly a sign of the times.

I <3 the new Urban Runners, it looks great in black! You chose a good time to buy it, especially because the value of your 3rd gen would continue to plummet. I would have kept the old 4Runner, but I know it's hard to resist the latest model. I've had my eye on a new Taco but I can't pull the trigger.
I paid $17,500 for my 2004 Tacoma w/ 57k miles on it about a year ago (which was probably a little overpriced but I REALLY wanted this combo of options and color). I would be lucky to sell it for $16,000 right now, more like $15,000 in reality.

Looks nice. Can't believe the dealership gave you that much for your 3rd Gen. And I actually prefer the V6 in the 4th Gens vs. the V8. The 4.0L has got plenty of get up and go. Selectable 4WD. Plus the oil changes are so simple with the oil filter relocation. And timing chain vs. timing belt. Unless you tow like crazy, V6 is the way to go.
