Did you took any pics of the engine?

Actually no. But it looks like any other 22RE I guess. It was clean and leak free. The engine block was blue so I think it has been repowered with a new short block. There were 2 different alarms installed in the truck over the last 18 years but of course neither work now. The speakers and wiring are junking up the engine bay though.

It had nice new blue plug wires, new plugs, new cap/rotor, new starter and new battery. Everything else looked like an old engine that just happily cranks out miles.

BUY IT

with some hard work, bondo, paint, cleaning, tuning ect... you can make it a kick butt truck and turn around and sell it for 3k

It's already bought $750 with extra wheels/tires. But I am not putting hard work into it. Maybe a little bondo and paint, but I must resist any urge to improve/modify/etc. I'm just going to drive it as a beater. The mod bug is strong, but I will resist.

That's what I said I was gonna do with my '90 Pickup I bought, and look at it now. It too was rusty, but it runs good because I was bit by the mod/maintain bug really hard.

Don't worry, man. Keep it, DON'T sell it, and take it off-road a few times, feel the power of 4Lo and the 22RE under you, and in weeks you'll be asking yourself, "I wonder what I could do with... JUST a body lift". And then it'll happen. You will become the ultimate caretaker of that truck. Your view of it being a "beater" will vanish, and you will give in to the mod bug. Every owner of a Toyota 4x4 doesn't keep it stock for long... No matter WHAT they say in the beginning.

If you don't believe me, just ask around.
