mine does this too occationally, although my 02 sensor is out, well unpluged, ripped the wire harness that sits on the cross member in a wheeling advendture, i got that taken care of, just gotta find time to put the new one in.

um it idles at like 1400 RPM when its in park and about 1k in drive. i hope that cuts down on the possibilities

Okay I don't have the manual with me, but isn't there a valve that retards the release of the gas pedal so as your engine doesn't drop revs too quickly. I want to say it's the PCV , but I can't remember.

I maybe wrong, is the engine dying after you release the throttle from FT or while the pedal is still on the floor?

I had the same problem with my mitsubishi. Id say change plugs and wires.
