The $800 price would probably include a BMW or Audi (Hella type) projector. I doubt for that price you would be getting the expensive and hard to find Q45 set.

A "Bi-Xenon" projector would be a good set up since the Runners use a dual-filiment single bulb headlight. My concern would be the fit of the projector. There is limited space behind the OEM housing(battery on one side and air box on the other)so the projector may have to fit into the housing further. As far as Kelvin rating on the HIDs. Anything with a higher Kelvin temp rating above 4100 is a waste of time(unless your looking for a nice color with little usable light and attract officer friendly).

I would be interested in a 4100k Bi-Xenon set up.

Can someone provide us with a picture of what the 4 runner beam pattern looks like. We just did a Ford F150 prototype and didn't physically have the clients vehicle with us. The results were really good. If I could get a picture of the beam pattern for a 4runner w/ the stock halogen bulbs, I would be able to determine if we could use the same technique to build your lights.

ok guys, here's the deal on the group buy. Almost everyones been asking about keeping the high beams so I figure the best option woudl be to just use a bixenon projector.

With the bixenon's we can only get a phase 2 setup so you would be getting a bixenon phase 2 projector. THe projectors come from a M5 I believe. It has the same basic beam pattern as a 5 series, but its got the added bixenon mechanics so you can retain your high beams.

Normally this setup would run $950 +shipping. If I can get 3 confirmed buyers we can do it for $850 + shipping. For those of you that just want a standard phase 2 setup we can do that for $750+shipping. For phase 3 we can do that for $1150+shipping. If we can get 6 confirmed buyers we could knock off an additional $50 off any of the setups. If we get 10 confirmed buyers knock off an additional $50.

I'm not sure if the Q45 gatling gun would fit in your headlamps. To get them to fit in the Tundra required some minor cutting to the projector itself already. Also the Q45 gatling gun would be fairly expensive. It would actually make more sense to just go with a phase 3 setup. However if you really want them and are willing to send a deposit, we'll locate a set for you.

It shouldn't be a problem since the 4Runner housing is about the same height as the Tundra one - meaning I would think it would still fit.

I'm kinda eyein' the phase 2 or phase 3 setup. I looked at the explanation on your website, but what would these setups consist of for our 4runners? What are the advantages to a phase 3 over the two? Could you keep the high beams with the phase 3?

Phase 2 uses a DOT spec projector while phase 3 uses an ECE spec projector. DOT is the standard that all headlamps in the US must follow while ECE is the standard that all headlamps in Europe must follow. The general concensus is that ECE is whitter, wider, more focused in the center, and have a much more aggressive flicker. ECE spec projectors will also generate a razor sharp cutoff, there's nothing in the DOT spec that can even come close to the ECE cutoff. As for keeping the high beam w/ the ECE spec, I'm sure there's a ECE spec bixenon, but we haven't been able to get our hands on one yet

As for the Q45, if you really want them and are willing to send us a rather large deposit i'll put in an order, but your retrofit cost is $1700 for Q45's. Personally I would rather save myself the $500 and goto phase 3.
