Floor shifter moves?

Have a new/used 4Runner 2000 SR5, when I go over bumps or uneven surfaces the shifter moves. Is there an issue here I need to be worried about or is this just the flex in the transmission mounts? any comments would be appreciated.

Your motor and tranny mounts are rubber. Good thing too or the vibration would drive you nuts. People with auto trans usually have the shifter mounted to the body with a linkage or cable to the trans, so they wouldn't see the movement guys with a manual trans see. It's normal.

kevin, could it be the bushing and seal on the shifter need to be replaced? I noticed a reduction in perceived shift moment when I replaced the bushing and seal in the shifter.
