drivetrain stutter, trans problem? 99 runner 140k, louisville area

searched the board but nothing that matched my symptons. My runner with an auto transmission (3.4L motor) developed a drivetrain stutter today. only happens under load and at lower rpms, more prominent at highway speeds. basically I clicked off the OD and ran through the gears at higher rpms and it went away for the most part. I dont believe its the motor because it revs up smooth in neutral. The stutter is just a quick loss of power and it got worse in a hurry. no abnormal sounds. no codes. Im fearing the worst.
Thought about maybe fuel filter or pump but why would it not do that at higher rpms. I guess im all bent out of shape because I just bought the truck 3 months ago and I just sold my 1st gen runner last week. Ha. I knew id regret selling my 1st gen. Anyone in the Louisville area know of a trusworthy shop I can take it to. on a side note, ive still got a 1st gen removable top for FREE! for anyone who wants it and can make the drive to cincy. thanks for looking!

you could try taking it to Westport Rd Auto. Its a small shop and it might take a little longer than a big place, but Steve is a real good mechanic. his number is 502.962.6655

where you at in louisville, by the way? im in old louisville just north of uofl campus.

Chris, what exactly do you mean by drivetrain stutter?

Just curious because when I hit the gas under heavy load it feels like the tranny is engaging harshly. It's like quick thud that can be felt which is annoying but not too bad. Is this similar to what you are experiencing?
