Dont put fake wood grain in your pick up / 4runner. leave it at its natural beauty.

I personally have never liked "wood grain" in trucks. If I had a luxury car then yeah I could see it there if I bought it new that way. I would never add it to it afterwards.

I think the collective groups opinion is that woodgrain dash kits=crap.

I know you were looking for help, but I gotta agree. Not a fan of wood appliques on dashboards.

I disagree with the naysayers here. (respectfully, of course)

I replaced the worn wood trim in mine a few years ago when I got it, and I think it looks good. Then again, I'm mostly stock, so I'm not real worried about maintaining a strictly trail rig theme.

Anyway, here's some before and after pics. Oh, and I got this kit on eBay, but it was one of the more expensive ones.

While I don't want to be quite as harsh as Midget, I have to agree. It still looks like wood stuck onto plastic.

Can't say that I am big on the wood-look on the dash but, it's your truck, you dress it up as you would want to be seen in it. Here is what I did to my dash. Got bored one sunny day and tired of the orginal look so, armed with a can of primer and fire-engine red (only because my truck is red) I got to changing things up. Mike with the Canadian perspective.

The dash looks better than it does in these pictures. Light from my flash doesn't do the full justice. Mike.

See, that looks good! It makes way more sense to me to do that than stick on some veneer.

Well it probably doesn't look like I did it because it took me 2 tries to get it right. The first time the paint ran so I had to remove it all and start all over again...lessons learned right! It's all about having patience I suppose. Hardest part of the whole process is replacing the dash without scratching the paint. The only part that I have to keep re-touching up is the little piece that goes around the ignation key.
So your runner is a canuck eh? Well that's ok....most things from Canada are good.
