Hey guys I am new here and fairly new to 4runners. I just bought a 4runner at the beginning of this month and have been loving it since then.

I have been searching and I havent heard or seen of anyone running the toytec 3 inch lift with the diff drop. Is anyone running this and if so how is the ride quality? How are the springs that come with the kit?

youre right; no one that i can remember in recent posts runs that toytec lift. did you see it on ebay? i think thats where ive seen it.

definitely look into the tundra coils mod. theres a ton of info on it w/ a very detailed writeup from bamachem

search "bamachem tundra lift". youll find it in the search results. theres a lot of info you need in those search results. as i advise all new members, do a lot of homework on lifts because it is a very expensive proposition that, once bought, can be expensive to go in another direction

If you search here, there are a few Tacomas that have this lift. Can't remember the guy's username or I'd search for you. This is for the front's only as the Tacomas have leafs in the rear.

From my experience w/ spacer lifts, the front's should be fine but the rear will sag. If you want to save some money, get the spacers for the front w/ the diff drop and go w/ some after market springs in the rear. For rear springs, I really like my OME 891's from Strap22 on this board and they were only $140 new, shipped to my door.

If you look at the toytec lift that i'm talking about it gives you different springs to use in the rear. Its the top one for $299.99.

Try a search on the TTORA forum. There are quite a few Tacos running the Toytec up front. I have not heard any feedback about the coils they ship with their 4Runner kits.

as with any spacer lift its going to make the ride harsher and cause the springs to sag prematurely. just a heads up on that. I agree with the tundra coil lift idea, Bob. Im going to do it myself here shortly and it is a little more expensive but Im sure that it will be a better way to go in the long run!

I just did that lift to my '00 4runner last week. I lift was easy to install and made the ride a lot firmer. The rear coil are OME 890's, they made the rear ride comfortable firm. As for the front, very firm, good for highway/city driving. Took it on a dirt road that turns into a trail. I could feel every rock in the road and on the trail. If I could, I would get the kit w/ front/rear coils and a diff drop little more in the wallet but I think it'll be worth it for you. I'll try to get some pics later. Oh, and I plan on buying new coils for the front. FYI Peace

I like the kit that Toytec is offering- 3 inch OME coil lift up front and 3 inch OME coil lift in back. Then add the toytec diff drop and it should be a nice setup, it will make the ride smoother then the spacers.

I see this as being one of the best bang for the buck lifts out there that hopefully will keep the ride soft enough to enjoy driving still.

i am running the toytec 3" spacers, with 99 4wd rear coils, to eliminate the sag. its not an offroad king but it performs very well with daily driving, i paid $200 for the kit, and $45 for the springs from phoenixtroy

I purchased the 3" Toytec lift with the diff drop a few months back and am fairly happy with it. You definately want to go with the springs in the front because with the regular spacer and top spacer the ride is harsh.I am happy with the springs in the rear. Only in the last few weeks I have noticed the front starting to sag (i believe someone already mentioned spacers making your springs sag prematurely).

Also something to keep in mind when lifting is getting extended shocks. When I ordered the lift I got extended skyjackers shocks but just got regular ranchos up front. With the spacers my shocks are close to fully extened and don't leave much free play. With either spring or spacer lift get extended shocks.

IMO stay away from spacers, especially in the rear. I'm running Daystar 2.5" spacers up front with Land Cruiser coils in the rear. I had the Daystars in the rear too, but my stock coils sagged as was noted earlier. LC coils give you about 4" of lift, which will give you a raked look. IIRC OME 890's or 891's will give you a more level lift with about 3" or so.

Besides the sagging issue, spacers make the 4Runner ride very rough. With the LC coils, it's like riding on a cloud. Just my $.02.
