Could a bad Master Cylinder cause these problems?

Could a bad Master Cylinder cause these problems?
I am still fighting this brake thing. I noticed that the old pads I just replaced were worn VERY unevenly. The pasesnger side was worn down to the wear indicators, but the driver side still had about half of a pad left. Could the master cylinder cause this? Bad alignment? worn tires? I am fighting this brake issue and and have all but given up. I have replaced the following:
hard lines upstream from the soft lines
hard lines from the soft lines downstream to the caliper
the soft brake lines with Goodridge SS lines
calipers with the Tundra 199mm with 12K miles on them
Hawk HPS pads
Tundra rotors with 12K miles on them.
New fluid.
rear brakes adjusted.
It was raining this weekend and I tested the brakes and they locked up and gave this loud grinding/crunching noise from up front. Scary feeling.
Also when I am at a stop sign creeping, the brakes feel like they are sticking. if i barely let off of them. it has this moaning sound. if that makes sense. i cant tell if it is the front or the rear.
I had the rotors turned less than two weeks ago and the shuddering is starting again. i bed the brake pads in after i put the new setup on. 3 hard slow downs from 45-10 and 3 from 60-10 followed by a 5 mile cool down.

I had both calipers,rotors, and pads replace last year 2x on my Tundra due to deffective calipers. The last pair of calipers seem to do the job. I hope I get more than 20,000mi out of this set. I noticed my 03' Tundra goes through brake pads way to fast.

If you have uneven wear on the pad surfaces, or from caliper to caliper, the cause of it is likely the calipers. Most likely pistons hanging up in the calipers themselves.

I have a similar problem, front brakes lock up with a grinding noise. It only happens in 2wd with slush or snow on the road.. 4wd ok . ABS problem? keep me posted

Tundra brakes?
you have Tundra calipers on your 4runner/tacoma? I've never heared of that.
if so the Tundra had a brake upgrade also that was a dealer tsb. different
pads, calipers, backing plates .....might be wrong pads with wrong calipers. As far as brake vibrations...yota's warp rotors...end of story....good luck!

It was before I put the tundra calipers/rotors on. But already my new rotors seem like they are a bit warped already. That is why I am thinking it may be the master cylinder. But I am not sure.
When stopped and in park, the pressure isnt that strong and if i keep pushing, i can push the pedal all the way down to the floor it seems. If I pump the brakes, the barkes never really get all that firm and if I pump them say 4 or 5 times and the last time i just keep pushing on toward the floor, i can push a lot further than i think i should be. Also when driving if I put the brakes on, i cant feel any braking until the pedal is half way to the floor. Is that normal?

Yeah, I hope the Tundra setup as fixed that problem. I rebuilt the tundra calipers before i put them on. The old calipers were re-mans, but that was the first set of pads through them.

The pre tsb tundra brake setup is a beffier verson of the 4runners. The rotors alone are almost twice the thickness and the calipers are a little wider. If you get the pre tundra tsb calipers they have a 199mm pin lenth and bolt right on. The pst tsb can also be installed and it does bolt up, but some have had to do some extra work getting the grinding the inside wheels to allow for the thicker caliper and some shaving of the dust shiled. The pins are 231mm on those. Both options are avialable and there are plenty of topics on this...have fun!

i did the tundra brake upgrade (199mm) and i get that moaning sound when i creep at stop lights or right before i completely let off the brakes before accelerating, weird. i posted in the "general" forum about my brakes pulling to the left a lot but i have nothing to add to what the cause might be. i'm going to just live with it until spring and then tear into the fronts again and probably rebuild the calipers again and replace the crappy bendix pads with oem this time and see if that does the trick. i do note that i have TONS of brake dust on my rims after only a few days when i clean them, but i haven't checked my pad wear to see if they are wearing fast, we'll see in the spring though. doubt this helped any, but just wanted you to know you are not alone, misery loves company as they say. i may just put my old brakes back on if this doesn't solve the problem.

Usually if a calipers sticking, they stick until the pads are gone, or the rim starts glowing . At least that what happened to mine. They didn't do it off and on. Take the caliper off and see if you can easily move the pistons. If not I would defenitly look up the valve.
