Well honestly that's why I recommend a timing belt replacement with the water pump. If they are not interested, I will remove the belt anyway so it doesn't get contaminated in the process. Actually because of the pricing, I can often REPLACE the belt CHEAPER than doing the water pump alone. The timing belt coupon price does not reflect the true $85 labor rate it would take to get in there, so I can usually get the cust out with a brand new belt and save them a few bucks in the process. As for working on your rig when it breaks down, I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon you sound like you take care of your vehicles. Better bet would be if you're driving through Ohio and you need an oil change, bring it to my bay. I'd be honored to work on your rig, and you can come out in the shop with me.
