i currently have a 3inch fabtech coil over suspension lift front and add a leaf rear on my 4x4 2003 yota tacoma. now i want to put a 3 inch revtek suspenson on top of it. is this safe to do so? are there any adverse affects that my occur? (i.e. drive shaft angles. ect?) i want 6 inches all around after everything is done

I have to experience with lifts but I'm going to say NO. Atacking parts like that on any system is very unstable.

there might be a slight, and i say slight, chance of making something like that work on a leaf-spring rear-end, but it will put WAY TOO MUCH angle on the CVs up front...that's why all these huge IFS lifts don't gain any ground clearance from the actual lift somply because they just drop everything down x-amount of inches...

I wouldn't ride with you in it. Get a 3" body lift if you need 3 more inches.

Sounds like a bad idea if you ask me. Why do you want a 6" lift on IFS??? if you intend on wheeling it you will be very disapointed I think and if its for looks still not a wise choise IMO

I beg to differ, I'm still IFS and I have more center ground clearance than anyone I've seen

yes, excellent point man...however, you're lift isn't "huge" or 6" and up (no-offense), as you're not using drop-brackets and what-not...i was referring to these 8" and up systems you see on rides like F150s, Z71s, or any ifs rig that people lift huge amounts without actually wanting to improve off-road-ability...

well that's a different story, the point of drop brackets is to eliminate the angles caused by lifting the front suspension and essentially reverting it back to stock angles, eliminating any possible ground clearance you could have gained by the lift in the first place. it's an either/or situation, not all ifs lifts include a drop bracket

and i've had no problems with the angles so far and i've pushed it pretty hard, i convinced blake (neliconcept) to get the same setup and as far as i know he hasn't had any problems and he's been hitting CO rocks pretty frequently from what i hear

and that is photobucket that's what happens when i get ahold of a 12mp camera, the original is twice that size at least

Thats alright ground clearence but go up on a rock and youll lose like half of it if not more. IFS and big lifts are for looks and wheeling them is not a good idea. You break CV's and more. IF anything a stock IFS rig with a locker will destroy an open lifted IFS rig anyday

im going to take the advice of many and go with the body lift 3" on top of my 3" suspension lift. now are there any other adverse affects i will run in to? ie steering column extensoins?

not always, it depends on your approach and it'd be more of a case by case basis, the more intelligent the driver, the more you can get out of it. i don't agree with you on the ifs for looks and usability for many reasons. the locker part is accurate. but a lifted ifs with a locker will walk over a stock locked ifs

check my pics...I'll try and get some new ones...but I have 4 inch suspension and 2 inch BL. 6 inches total like you are looking for.

I could probally use 35's though...but gas prices and gearing are steering me away from upgrading my 285's. I don't think it looks too bad.
