can i dd my vechicle or do i have to regear

i am goin to 35's or maybe 33's on my 82 toyota soon but i need to know if i have to regear. 4.10 gears i have i believe. its got the 5 speed as well. someone told me the other day that i would have to regear for 35's but i was getting my brakes done yesterday and a guy there told me he ran 35's on his yota stock gears and had no problems. I know freeway will be better and its not like i have power anyways, haha, so i just neeed some honest feedback. I have so much rome under these wheelwells its hard to say no to the bigger possible tire size.
thanks for advice!

no one ever has to actually regear, but with 35s you should... at least 4.88 or lower (higher #)

With 35s and 90 horsepower??... you can drive it as a 4 speed (and still have No Power,) or regear. 5.29s for 35s.

Your driveability will truly suffer if you run 35's on stock gearing with your engine. Your gas mileage will take a dive and it will drive like a dog. You "might" make 60 mph flat out in 4th gear.

guess i will stick with 33's then or until i can afford a regear. Gears are a lot more expensive for these axles then they were for my dana 30 and 35 on my jeep! i can get a good deal on some 33 inch boggers anyways. thank for the advice.

Really? I checked three online suppliers, this is what I found:
Dana 30 $189-198
Dana 44 $160-196
Toyota 8" $208-225
So yep, it's a whopping $56-$67 more.
