Aussie Locker for Toyota 8.0" V6 soon.

FYI: I was looking at all the locker options out there for a 3rd Gen Rear and found that currently Aussie Locker is not making one for the rear but do make one for the 7.5 front. So I emailed the engineering dept and ask about it.

Thank you for your interest in the Aussie Locker. Our V6 Aussie Locker is on order from Australia but is not in the production schedule. Our best estimate would be availability in March.

I have heard a lot of good things about these lockers as far as lunch box lockers go. Sounds like they will make one in March.

I have heard they are slow putting out new models. It is a nice product though. I have one in the runner and after it broke in it smoothed out very nicely and works well.

Awesome news! Sounds like they're finally going to make good on their word. I emailed Aussie's Engineering group back in February and here's the response I got:

"Yes, we are, and in fact have been for some time, looking at options on the development of a 4 pinion Aussie Locker for the V6 Toyota. The issues, as defined by our Australian engineering team are not insignificant due to our design approach. At this time we have three or four other new models that are ahead of the Toyota V6 in the que for new product resources so we are unable to provide a reasonable estimate of availability. We hate to send a customer to a competitor, but we also would not want you to have false expectations on availability from us."

I guess they are feeling at least more confident that it may be sooner rather than later.

Cool

eric, I thought you had made up your mind about the selectable? Anyhow, my dad just bought a limited that has the elocker. He says I can come swap the axles if I want. Its up in Stockton (7 hour drive). I might go up there in a few weeks. I'm too lazy to remove my lock rite and do the swap. I've actually grown pretty close to my lock rite. I like not having to push a button I know that may sound stupid, but if I had to do it again, I wouldn't hesitate.
Long story short, if you really want this axle I might we might be able to work something out...

Well that sucks!

Perhaps they are too polite to say suck it up we are not making one for that application. LOL

>Jon,

The Toyota V6 model is not yet in our product line. It is an approved
development program, but I do not expect to see the Aussie Locker for your
diff until late November. We apologize that we are unable to assist you at
this time and thank you for your interest in the Aussie Locker.

I have a 1996 Toyota 4Runner V6 manual. I didn't see any applications for
my specific vehicle and year model. I would really like to know if I can
install one on my specific vehicle. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time.
