Hard shift 1st to 2nd 2001 4Runner 4x4 Automatic

I have a 2001 4Runner 4x4 with 320,000 miles on it. Last week I took my daughter back to college and let the valet at the hotel park the 4Runner. When I picked it up the next morning it kind of slammed from 1st to 2nd gear. All the other gears shifted fine. I have since put about 400 to 500 miles on it and am still getting the hard shift from 1st to 2nd. Hooked up my obd reader and got a code of P1760 ( Linear Solenoid for Line Pressure Control Circuit Malfunction). I am thinking about changing out the Shift Solenoid Valve SLT but want to know what experience any body else has had in doing this. Is the valve just sticking since it is shifting, but not as smooth as it used to or is this an indication that it is bad? Do I need to consider some type of tranny conditioner 1st. The fluid was changed about 20,000 mile ago and looks nice and red and smells good. Any Input from anyone that has had similar problems woul.d be greatly appreciated.

Hi all - need some help here. I just finished installing a new shift solenoid kit in my 2001 4Runner 2WD (A340E trans and 149,000 miles) and I'm still getting the same OBD-II codes: P0755 01/02-Fault and P0755 02/02-Pending. It won't shift into 4th gear. Everything went in smoothly, including new filter, but I did find a number of metal pieces (2-3mm) attached to the magnets. I probably waited too long to change fluid. Any chance a metal piece is jammed somewhere? Or are there any other components that affect the shifting, maybe electrical or mechanical? I hoped that just changing out the solenoids (all 3) would fix it, but apparently I might have misdiagnosed the problem. Any insights would be great. Thanks.
