99' Coils and KYB Monomaxs installed

Finally got my 99' Spring and KYB Monomax setup installed, and I must say its very pleasant. I was worried at first because I read a lot of reviews on here that say the Monomax's ride way too stiff. I would have to disagree. The ride is somewhat stiff but very enjoyable, and a huge difference over stock. And even though the springs only lifted my rig about 1.5inch, I could tell immediately. Anyway, i'm stoked and don't have anybody else to share with so I thought I would tell you guys.

Yeah, i'll get some pics up as soon as it stops raining. I didn't do it myself due to my busy work schedule, but I got it done for a reasonable price ($240). All I need now is an alignment, and I'm good to go. I'll get some pics to you guys asap.

I finally got around to taking some pics. I also opted to take my nerf bars off since they got in the way of the front mud flaps. (Nerf bars are for sale, as well as the 00' springs that were previously on it. No sag.)

After

yeah mine is pulling slightly to the left, and my steering wheel will rapidly move back and forth at about 50-65mph. I'm hoping its an alignment issue and nothing more. I got the wheels balanced the day i put them on, but maybe they need to be rebalanced. who knows.

looks really smooth. I like it better with out the nerf bars too. How much lift did you get from the 99 springs?

Please let us know if the allignment helps. I'm considering the '99 suspension on my 2000 before I add 265/75/16's (BFG MT's), but I don't want to introduce any new issues, because the stock 2000 is so awesome right now, both on and off road. Thanks.

yeah, i'll let you all know the verdict once i get it alligned saturday. Hopefully its nothing serious. I can live with the vibrations and whatnot as long as it doesn't affect the wear pattern of my tires.

The alignment was probably not done to perfection. Take it back and have them do it again..

will anything else within the suspension components cause the steering wheel to go back and forth like its doing? Like the sway bar or the steering stabilzer? Not sure about either of those just throwin it out there. thanks

my guess is the steering rack bushings. a shimmy shouldn't have anything to do with the alignment.

Your 4runner looks great, and I'm thinking about doing the same to mine now. Did you buy the springs and shocks from sonran steel?

i got the springs from a fellow yotatech member, and the shocks on ebay. They were $229 shipped. A really good deal IMO.

I did some price shopping for the 99 springs upgrade. The complete kit from sonoran steel is $550. If I order the spings from conicelli toyota, they are $214 shipped. So, if I then get the monomax shocks from ebay like you did, my total cost would be $443. Is that all I need to buy for this install?
