98 4 runner TPS confusion
i've read all sorts of TPS info...my 98 V6 is running rough in idle and worse in gear...no CEL initially then came on yesterday and this a.m. was off...have cleaned the MAF and it looked good...changed out the pre-cat O2 and pulled the EFI with no change...accidentally pulled the TPS off and put it back on without any change...my TPS (if I am looking at the right piece) has three pins on the harness only and the screw holes are round with no adjustment capabilities--is this accurate and I should now ignore any possibility of a misadjusted TPS and maybe assume I have a bad one...do need to try and get it to a diagnostic center, but in the mean time any cheap ideas--fuel filter? 2nd O2 sensor?

RIIGHT...this whole process is like the jumps to conclusion board...well, ran a scanner and here are the 2 codes..P0300 and P0306...a misfiring 6 cyl. thanks for the suggestion...not sure what to do with the codes...how difficult is this to fix...just check the wires/plugs and coils? Pretty handy, but the truck needs to be inspected and was going to have them tune it up including wires and plugs...thanks again

new plugs and wires should fix it, I'd go with oem dual electrode plugs it you have the 3.4l. I recently had a tune up problem and I had to replace plugs wites and 1 coil pack. Not too much for a 130k mi tune up.
