3vze EGR temp sensor question
I was wondering if I could use a resister in place of my egr temp sensor on my 95 4Runner. I have been having a bad hesitation off idles and power loss at WOT that goes away if I pull the vacum line off the EGR valve. But, I get a code 71 due to the cold sensor. I just picked it up from the dealer and they said that the ONLY thing wrong with the truck is the valvles are a little noisy(normal). This is the 3rd shop Ive had it to and they all find nothing wrong
So, If I can use a resistor to make the pcm think the sensor is hot I will eliminate the code and Have a good running truck again. We dont have any kind of inspection around here so im not worried about that right now. If they start emission testing here I guess ill have to worry about that when the time comes.
Also, I got 172 miles to the last tank of fuel

I was getting a code 71, tried several things. Even took the EGR tube out and cleaned it. Finally located a vacuum hose that wasn't connected to the EGR valve. It was hidden from easy view. Put it on, reset the CEL and no more problems.

Quick,
I get the same code but can't find anyhthing wrong either. Would you do me a favor and check your tps. Mine is out of whack and needs to be replaced. This will give a stumble at idle and other symptoms. My theory is, if the tps is wrong then it may be causing the engine to run a little rich which could reduce the egr temp giving a code 71. I am going to replace the tps next week.
