opps! I meant 1/8" thick.

Oldseven just went to a local plastic vendor/distibor shop and picked up the plastic from them.

Started on a template for the front mud flaps. Still needs a little tweaking. I'm going to take out that curve on the right and just run it straight like others have done but I wanted to see what it would look like and probable do a little trimming for some plastic pieces underneath for a cleaner fit. For the curve on the bottom I just made a template of the rear mudflaps and used that for these.

Need to do some trimming on the inside but it still gives a me a good idea.

Once I get everything trimmed up right I'll transfer to some 1/8" plastic I picked up from a friend then mount them.

Contura flaps

I've been looking for flaps for my 00 limited for some time. I know the taco flaps work but i want something that fits like the OE SR-5 flaps so i kept looking. Then i saw the conturas on speedys site thinking theyd work. Fitting them up to the fender it seems that if i removed some material from the bottom of the flap to fit the bump on the bottom of the fender and removed some the material from the front of the contura flap it could work. Id like to see if i could get more details from speedy.

The rubber I bought was in a big roll (kinda like how they sell carpet) near the plumbing/shower section of the store. The guy that cut it for me said that it's normally used to line the bottom of showers, but idk if he was completely sure. They sold the stuff by square foot and they charged something like $3 per sq. ft.

And no, holes weren't pre-drilled in the rubber. I used two existing holes in my limited flares and drilled an extra three holes to mount the flaps. Probably drilled more holes than necessary, but it gave me peace of mind knowing that it won't come off.

BTW, this rubber stuff is really quite thin, but it actually does the job very well IMO and when I go off roading, it won't break off since it can bend and flex if it were to hit a rock, etc.

Im with the no mud flap guys. I had some ziptied on for a while, always fell off, bolted on a set from the front of my buddies 88 pickup, on to the rear of my 4runner. Those only lasted for about week.

I wont be running them untill i get pulled over, then i will make some removable ones for the rear.

They are good if you stick to pavement and gravel roads. But anything else, they will get ripped off.

My OEM ones (with the SR5 flares) have seen plenty of off roading and are a bit scuffed but are still stuck on like they were new. Mudflaps are a must in my book since I've seen the rocker panels of some of my friend's trucks who've gone flapless and too many rock chips for me.

yah I am with you X-considering our rides are mostly on pavement and dirt roads with the occasional off roading, I am willing to protect my paint full time and simply remove the flaps if I get into hardcore rock bashing.
