Hi all.
First off, thanks to everyone that replied about my diesel question. Learned alot.

My question is with regards to the rear drums on my 99 4runner.
The tire monkey that took my drum off, cracked the drum while he was smashing it loose... suffice it to say, I'm not happy.

I'm looking at going to a wrecker to pick up another one, but I'm just wondering if all the 3rd gens have the same drum size.

Look for one with a similar tire size. I believe that all the drums are the same size (although front brakes had 15" and 16" versions to watch out for). By getting them off of a vehicle with the same rim size as yours you will eliminate this as a potential for error.

All 3rd gens have the same rear rotors. I know this because I was going through a process of converting my brakes so I could fit 15" rims on. Only have to worry about the fronts.

Most drum brakes have a few treaded holes which you can screw long screws into and they will evenly push the drum off.

Also, make sure your parking brake isn't on.....but I'm sure you already thought of that! :pat:
