22RE spit out #4 sparkplug

Hey guys,

I just got my 1st gen back from Protrux a few weeks ago. One of the things they did was work on the sparkplugs. I took it out for a drive yesterday and noticed some ticking and was trying to figure out if it was a valve thing when *bang* and then the engine was REALLY sputtering and trying not to die.

I found that the engine had spit out the #4 sparkplug. I tightened it back in and cautiously drove around some more. I've had no problems but have noticed the ticking but it's not as loud as it was before. So my questions are:

Is the sparkplug being spit out so forcefully a sign of an untightened sparkplug or could it be something worse? I have a sneaking suspicion that the threads are jacked up.

Is the ticking related to the sparkplug issue or is that just a coincidence and I probably do need to look into it?

Take it back to ProTrux, tell them what happened, tell them to fix it (helicoil) and play nice.

I'll have to call up ProTrux and let them know about the #4 cylinder.
I've driven about 500 miles since I picked up my truck from them. I'm pretty sure that it was just loose and managed to work it's way out. The ticking I had noticed within the last 50 miles before it spit out the plug.

If the threads were jacked I'm pretty sure it would have worked it's way out before this...

Take it back. I've had this happen to me before and the threads were really jacked up! They should fix it, it's THEIR fault.
