2000 4runner SR5 Running Boards Removed
I removed the stock running boards and it looks great. Going to order some mud flaps for the front. Does anybody know why the paint along the underside of the doors/body is so textured and looks thicker? I was thinking of doing a strip of Rhino Lining along the bottom but I think the paint might already be reinforced there. If you're thinking of taking the boards off all it took was size 12-14mm sockets/wrenches and a Phillips screw driver. The back is tricky because the tire is in the way of the plastic molding so you want to have a really short Phillips driver. Also, you can save some time by removing the 3 mounting brackets underneath while they are still attached to the board rather than taking apart the whole board, make sure you take off all the molding first though.
