1998 Tacoma Problem with hose placement

Newbie here. Hi everyone. I have a 1998 Taco 2.7. I had some idling problems so I removed the throttle body and the intake manifold and cleaned all the parts and put in new gaskets. However, when i hooked it back up and started it there was oil all over the cement. A lot of oil. It also looked like there was some antifreeze on the transmission. I think the oil was coming through the exhaust. I think I hooked some of the hoses up wrong. Could that be possible? Could that cause that much oil loss?

Thanks

Well the easy answer is "yes". But we have no way of knowing what you connected wrong, if anything, or what didn't get torqued back down correctly, or what gaskets got damaged or didn't get replaced etc.

I haven't worked on the 2.7 so I don't know what you had to disconnect. But yeah, clearly you didn't put something back together correctly.

You think the oil was coming out the tailpipe?? I think you'd know for sure if it was. Pretty obvious. So where exactly is it coming from?

I'd say look everything over very closely. If you can't see the problem, then it's time to take it apart again, and take a good look at your manual, and make sure you put it all back together correctly.

Posting photos and very specific descriptions of exactly where things are leaking will help us, too. I mean I can't imagine that you have oil "all over the cement" at the tailpipe...so where exactly is it coming out of the exhaust? At the manifold?
