It does not cost more than the headlight housing he sells. Look up the price of a headlight housing on his site and you'll see what I'm referring to.

You may have paid less for headlight housings, but it's all relative from where you purchased them. When I did my retro, I picked up a pair of used oem housings off ebay for approx $50.00 total.

I was just throwing out his site so you could see that clear marker lights are avail. Ebay and others may offer them too.

I will give a plus one on FXR's from TRS, I put these in my '93 runner, very impressive and very reasonable price.

did you encounter any issues with the blue high beam indicator in the dash no longer working after your HID headlight conversion?

Good write up! Do you have a link to the thread of how to separate and reseal the housings? I've had 35w 6000k HIDs in my stock housing for years, angled down so I never get flashed but kinda ruins the whole point (more light). I intend on doing my 4Runner and the wife's Forester soon. Also gonna grab a big ol LED bar for off-road. Those things are bad a$$!

So is this 6000K at 35w? Looks good man, nice job

Yes i did. I did not find it a big deal since it's easy to know when you're in high or low. The light output appears different in both, easy to tell.

Honestly, sorry i dont have the link to that thread at the moment. I will look for it. It was in someone else write up guide, if you wish you could search too. Look for HID's retrofits / hid upgrades / write ups etc..

Reason why i went with 5k instead of 6k is because i live in Maine and we tend to have a seasonal of rain / fog and snow for a long period of time. The lower the number, the higher visibility you will have. If you pick anything above 6k you will actually lose your visibility. Some people don't care and just want the colors lol

I hear TRS has new products now, perhaps worthy to take a look at. New shrouds, colors, led lights, new projectors etc..
