16x8 rim with a 5" backspace
Is it possible to fit 265/75/16's on 16x8 rims with a 5" backspace on a 2.5" suspension lifted 4runner without wheel spacers?

Wouldn't 5" backspace mean only 3" would stick out? That would put it just about stock.

I might be suspicious of it being able to clear the control arm, because the backspace is so big... Just check to make sure is all. My 16x7's which have 4.25" of BS I think (stock 2000 4Runner Limited Alloys) only leave about a 3/8" or so of space between the upper control arm and the tire. If I got my backspacing right, that would mean your rims would be 3/4" IN, definitely touching the control arm...

I was also very suspicious about this. I was checking out wheels on tire trends.

I noticed one of the wheels that they said would fir the 4runner was the american racing diamond back +12 offset (5 inch backspace). Since I have an SR5 without flares, I realized this rim would sit inside the wheel well almost stock. I was just weary of the 5" backspace hitting the a arm or something. I was hoping for someone else on here to be runing a wheel with 5" backspace.

I understand he has a wider wheel, but the backspacing measures from the back of the rim, meaning regardless of overall rim width the distance to the upper control arm will be the same.
Thanks for the clarification on my backspacing nc994run, based on those numbers I do not think a 5" BS will work, because if the tire is .625" closer to the control arm it will rub! I would find a rim with at MOST stock backspacing, and less if possible.

Its starting to seem that I am doomed to have my tires sticking out of the wheel wells with aftermarket rims. Does anyone have pictures of how far 265/75's on a 4.5" backspace 16x8 stick out of the wheel wells on a sr5 with the chrome strips?
Thanks
Thanks

I haxe 16x 8s with 4.25 and IMO the look perfect. they stick out about 1 1/2 inches +/-. With the bfg mts they make the truck look like a truck instead of a station wagon.
