Still haven't done anything to this yet but I am going to get started here soon.
I picked up a IFS steering box and another 4.10 third from my buddy who was parting out a 91 truck. Also picked up a Solid front.
All I need to get started now is a front spring hanger, shock towers or hoops, an engine (my buddy's 22r), rear springs to match RUFs, a clutch pedal assy, clutch booster and slave and I think thats all. Mostly small stuff.
V6 rear with diff armor diff breather, and relocated shock mounts

Solid front. Needs a set of lockouts

W56C tranny

And what do yall think about this?

Wow, very cool! Can't wait to watch this take place.

Far as the grill? I've seen em in, they look cool... But I just love the body style and grill, etc., of our rigs. All that said, it's TOTALLY up to you, lol. BUT, would seem to me that making it WIDER wouldn't be TOOO DIFFICULT. You could cut in the middle and add grill mesh and extend the upper and lower arms by adding brackets from behind and plastic cut outs over it.(like cut outs FROM ANOTHER FJ grill? hehehe. Just a thought. I think it would be cooler if it extended all the way across?

Great pile of stuff there ,man! KILL IT! lol

Hope that W56 is golden.... Cuz I've found 4 for under 200$ and they're ALLLLLLLLLLLL chunky in spots, so I passed.(I could just rebuild my own, ya know? lol).

Still can't find an R151F lol.

Thanks!!
Yeah I have looked into getting a grill off another FJ and grafting it to make it full width. The hardest part would be getting it glued together.
As for the W56, I got it from a friend in Albuquerque for $100. He said it was a good one. Had it layin around as a spare or something.
I would love to find a R151F. I have only found one for sale out here. $600!! A buddy of mine picked it up because he split his old one out at KOH this year. My other friend with the 86 Turbo truck has one in his truck and I have thought about borrowing it without askin lol.

Dont make the grill fit the truck, make the truck fit the grill! Narrow that front it would be SWEET.

That's been the prominent idea here recently. I think it would look pretty sick dovetailed up front.

Ok so it turns out they guy wants a whole lot more than I was originally told. This is why you go right to the source before further assuming. I talked to him today and he wants somewhere around 1700 for the truck. But for the motor, trans and all the shtuff I need for swappin he would do me 800. Said that he would rather see me with it rather than some shmuck that comes along off Craigslist. Its still not bad of a price for a full 3.4 swap though. Said it ran just perfect when they got it all back on its tires and let the oil drain back into the pan. Still have yet to go and check it out though. Our schedules kind of clash so it may be a few days. Looks like I need to start saving up something fierce haha. Good thing I just got offered a job at a chemical plant making a starting wage of $18.50. Can't wait to start!!

800 would be a good deal on the drive train compared to buying at a salvage. Will he let the truck stay for awhile before getting rid of it? The wiring and what ever else that might be needed for the swap would add up quick. See if he would work something out with you for other parts that might be needed.

Being flipped end over end and no dravetrain, I would say there wouldnt be a whole lot left other then interior and odd pieces.

Yeah, I am sure its going to be around a while. He is thinking of parting it out to make a few extra bucks compared to what the crush and salvage yards quoted him.
I think you are right. The only other thing that I could possibly want is the rear diff for a spare, and maybe the drive lines.
