Thanks man. It is pretty darn solid for what is there. Glad I got my hooks on it lol.

As per my wishy washy ways, I have changed my mind as far as axles go. Since I cant seem find any cheaper 60s, I changed my build to most likely run a FJ40 front axle or if not jus a reg Toy front and keep the 81 rear end. I have also been thinking about changing my plans for engine but I havnt decided yet. Go figure lol

Engine stays the same. Dad said he would GIVE me one if I would run it. Now just to find the tranny and tcase. That shouldnt be too hard.

I have changed my plans a little again. Im not running the auto trans. I havnt been able to find a passenger drop tcase that mates to a C6. So I am gonna run either a T18 or a NP435 with either a passenger drop 205, dana 20 or dana 300. Other than that little bit of info nothing has changed with it. I am still saving up money so I can start building up the parts pile. So far all I have is an engine. Its gettin started alot slower than I initially wanted but itll get there.

I would ulitmately like to run a ZF 5 spd, if I can find a decently priced one. If I am not able to find a 4x4 trans there is always this option: http://classicbroncos.com/tech/budget-zf-transmission , with my choice of tcase that is.
It seems like all I do these days is research and plan for this build. I need to get this thing started and off the ground

Really debating weather or not to run the 302. I am really on the fence to run either a 22RE or the 302.

We have a 302 sittin here, but it most likely needs a rebuild and most if not all new accessories. With that, I dont really know what trans to run. I would like to run a Toy trans and Tcase, so Im thinkin W56. Will it hold up? And finding an adapter or making one? I know that NWOR has one but Im not really down for spending and ass load of money. This is kind of a budget build

I dont really have any RE stuff. All I really have is a 85 block, but no crank or rods, and a R/RE head. So Im in close to the same boat on both engines.

Maybe a 3RZ swap?

Why the body swap? Your runner looked to be pretty solid. Or is there some rust issues that didn't show up in your pics??? As far as your engine choices, I've been going thru the same delima! A fuel injected 302 would be sweet, and from what I've read the w56 will work well (depending on your driving habits) I'm curious to see which way you decide to go! I think for now I'm going to get me another 22re so I can getine back on the road quicker, but if & when that motor ever goes I might go the 302/ w56 route.

PS: if I remember correctly, I think NWOR's bellhousing adapter is around $600

Lol, I just re-read your post & realized I misuunderstood what you were saying, you meant swap your 4 runner body on the pickup frame cuz yours is a v6 and the the truck already has a 22 re in it so you wouldn't have to fab up motor mounts & such.... I hope I got it right, this time, lol!

Close but I wanna swap it on to the pickup frame because it is a solid axle and the runner frame is IFS

I was going to do the 3RZ, before re-re-rebuilding my 22RE, lol..... Been done many times, tons of info, you should be a-ok on that, just don't lose it while doing the wiring! lol. Jk, you'll be fine!

Gonna be sick!

Yeah, I been readin up on the swap and its seems pretty good cept for the wiring. All I have to do now is find all the stuff for the swap. There is a complete conv at a yard in Denver but the guy wants $1200 for it. Cant really afford that much. And I missed out on another complete swap for $450. Really bummed me out haha

Gonna pick up a 95 Tacoma rear axle non elocker this weekend. Got it for $100. Should be better than the narrow 81 housing I have
Edit: Skratch that. Further research and they arent as good as I thought

Sold the trans for $150. Time to look for parts! LOL Found a 3rz swap that a guy is willing to trade a 3.0 block for. Also found another solid axle and a w56 tranny. My buddy in Albuquerque has them. ROAD TRIP!! lol

Picked up the solid front and W56C for $200 today. Also got a v6 built v6 housing and shafts for free on Monday. Its coming together quickly. All I really need now is an engine and maybe some 63" chevys to get this show on the road. I am almost thinkin of running a 20r/22r hybrid for a while. I have all the parts, just need to the machining and assembly.

Haha I'm gettin there. Still workin on getting parts. I have a line on a 22re that my buddy is pulling from a parts truck. So all I need now are some 63 inch Chevy springs and shocks to get it rolling.

What do y'all think about Digi Snow Camo for the paint job?I have been rolling it around in my head for the longest time. The idea kinda started with the Rebel Rod when it was mine. I think it would look kool and it could be done pretty quickly lol
