Trucks keeps looking better. We are getting the Cam Back for this coming summer. Looks great on there and will be so much nicer then having to remove the top each time.

This truck is goig to be great when you are done. Great job.

Got the interior back together around Christmas. All that is left is to do the seats. I am pretty disappointed with the vinyl dye that I bought. It's not even close to the color of the cap, but at least it's still blue.

Yours is an exact twin to mine except you have the SR5 cluster. Will just be glad to get mine running. Your truck is coming along nicely.

Did the 93 seats fit in ok? I would have better luck with 2nd gen seats over 1st gen here. I might know of 10 first gens in a 50 mile radius of here.

Hello jswizz..On my 88 build, I show how to do the panels. Best thing is to go to a auto parts store that mixes interior paint. They need part of a panel that is faded to match it. It runs about $23 a can in my area. Off of the shelf is about $8.

Terry, I haven't tried to fit the seats yet. The driver side is pretty bad and I am trying to find fabric for it first. So of you know of somewhere that has some blue seats for a 93 it would be appreciated.

Made some more progress on the engine. Got the new cam in and reseated the valves. Everything is all back together, minus the oil pick up. If anyone has a spare laying around they are not using, let me know.

Got the motor pulled out of the 4runner today.





Need to do a bunch of cleaning and then I can start putting the new motor in.

Made a bunch of progress over the weekend. I pulled everything off the old motor and started cleaning it. My god was the intake dirty. I tried Purple Power, Kerosene, Brake Cleaner, and Carb Cleaner. It's not spotless, but its 1000 times better than it was. What does everyone do to combat this problem? I already made an EGR blockoff plate, but what about the PCV and the other valve cover vent? I then sandblasted all the intake parts and got a coat of paint on them. I'll post pics tonight, but they came out great.

wow man loveing it so far, this is exactly what i wanna do for mine. wheeling sometimes and then mostly dd, as far as the pickup tube goes i do have a spare lying around i just dont know if its the same, mines a first gen 22r and id also like to build another 22r sometime in the future. cant help ya with the intake problem, good luck though! an def subed

Here is a pic of what I did. I have been using Rustoleum wheel paint and clear to paint the valve cover and intake stuff. Looking back, I probably should have painted the timing cover too.

I need to get new seals for the injectors. They were so dried out I don't think they will still seal.

Uhh, wow. The motor you took out looks better than mine, and the paint job on the rebuilt looks so good I'd hate to get it dirty. You make me sick!
