Electric Fan in stock shroud

As the title states I installed an electric fan but in our stock fan shroud....
Let me explain why I did this....
About a year ago I lend my 88' pick up to my ex's brother, I got it back 3 months after we broke up. He had it for a total of eight months I think. He told me when he gave it back that it was hard to start this morning and it idle rough at first, he left out that he took it wheeling and trashed the bottom radiator hose. He replaced it but filled it with reular tap water....
I just drove it into my back yard put a tarp over it and walked away I figured it just needed a tune up...

Two months later I was offered a free motorcycle, just had to go pick it up...

I pulled my pick up out and it did take more than the usual crank to star this engine and it idled real rough but in a few sec one it was back to normal, I've had this before from a failed head gasket, I checked the valve cover cap and no chocolate milk foam on it so I figured the damage wasn't that bad yet I can make a 30 minute drive with it...

What I didn't acount for was an accident on the 5 fwy I was stuck on the last lane and 3 lanes where shut down, and my temp gauge was shot up to 3/4 in a hurry. I tried to get of the freeway but no one would let me out. It hit the red mark on my gauge and boom steam shot out of my hood... Turned of my engine and called triple A....

After 4 hours in traffic I finally got home I put in the back and just left it there for the weekend...

This what I opened up on Saturday morning....

My cuzen was with me when we started taking things apart, We found that 3 blades were broken off the plastic fan im assuming thats why it over heated...
then he had the crazy idea to put an electric fan with automatic control on it...
he had one he had just ordered for his 89' 5.0 Mustang that was smashed by a littel old ladie, he let me have it for free...

I attached the fan to the shroud with 6 10-32 screws w/ springs so there would be tention on them...

I installed the rellay next to the the stock fuse box...
