briank's 1989 sr5 4runner build up
Hey all, so i recently picked up an 89 sr5 4runner. v6 automatic, sunroof, about 156k miles. Runs like a champ already put over 1k miles on it in 2 weeks. Not as sluggish as i thought the v6 auto would be but I don't drive fast anyhow. It is my daily driver so I won't be getting crazy. Got the toytec 2" lift kit with shocks and will try to fix the rust (was fixed by PO but looks like crap) get those stripes off and get some 33"s on it. Anyway on to the pics.

hoping the pics showed up alright. got some of the saggy butt on this. i'm also trying to find headrests as i am missing 3 out of 4 of them. I will take lots of pics during the toytec install, which I should get to sometime this week hopefully.

thanks! i love 1st gen's and searched forever in a tristate area and found nothing. then found this 10 miles from my house! the interior is nearly mint (minus the missing headrests). I'm just excited to get to work on it.

As you can see it fixed the saggy butt and give it some nice lift! The install was good but rusty! The rear was a pain but the front went on like nothing. You can see the spacer and new shocks in one pic and the aal and shock in the other. The shocks that came with the lift seem very smooth so far. Getting an alignment wednesday and new tires on thursday. 32x11.50x15 dunlop mud terrains!

thanks guys! love the tires so far, i mean i've only put about 40 miles on them but they ride smooth and no noise at all. time to clean up some of that body and im debating on if i want to get tube style/stinger bumpers or just stay with stock.
