1985 Toyota SingleCab, EFI
I'm a bit late on starting this thread, so let me get caught up....
So as of 3 weeks ago, I am the proud new owner of this sweet 1985 single cab! SO EXCITED!
1985 Toyota Pickup 4x4 Sr5, EFI, SAS, 5spd
121xxx mi (original motor)
3" Body lift
33x12.5x16.5 Dakota RVTs
4.88 gears
Warn manual locking hubs
NO RUST!! YAY!!
Craigslist photos:
Photos right after buying it:
Adjusting valves:
Dirty plugs!:
Crazy compression, this is a whole issue in itself which is causing me to replace the head. Apparently the previous owner had the head decked quite a bit, hence the high compression. This I verified by replacing the timing chain and realizing there was slack in the new one when I put it on.
Replaced ugly green backlit panel:
Installed Marlin Crawler HD shifter seat (sorry I forgot to take pics):

Thanks guys! I love it so much!
Yesterday I fixed the speedometer
All chewed up!
It works! And with the 33's and 4.88 gears, its only off by 2-5 mph, I thought about getting a different sized gear but its so close I can just live with it.
