98 camry 2.2 occasional starter "clash"
I posted this in another "toyota forum" a few days ago, but, no answer.
This is really a generic starter question. I picked up a 98 with 156,000 and a few problems. The one remaining is that, from a cold start, the starter will "clash" with a noise similar to engaging the starter with the engine running.
It was doing this only once, the worked several times. Lately, it seems to do it more often. But, now it is up on ramps, as I fiddle with fluids and stuff.
I would like not to buy a new starter (even tho ebay has some "cheap"), if possible.
Ideas?
