Not for nothing but is it legal to private sale firearms? Does'nt a dealer have to be involved to do the background check?

No sir, but if you're shipping you need to go through an FFL dealer though.

Nope. If it is local it isnt. And if you ship to a dealer, but sending it through the mail without identifying it you can get in trouble.
