85 4runner 5.29's dual cases MINT!!! $6k **SOLD**
For sale, my 85 4runner. I went looking for the cleanest first gen I could find, and this was it. I spend several thousand taking it from a well set up rig to the exact rig that I wanted. It spent its life is southern california, and has never seen road salt or winter driving. It is ready to wheel anywhere or drive coast to coast. It wheels extremely well and has good road manners. I drive it to work a couple times a week, 36 miles each way and over a mountain. Stored under cover on a concrete floor. You wont find one this clean and all set up for the woods with such little wheeling use. Currently registered, insured and INSPECTED in Vermont. Inspection good until June 2014.
Here is the list of what it had when I got it.
-Marlin dual cases with marlin 4.7s in the rear case
-Detroit locker in the rear, lockrite in the front
-Waggy springs in the front, stockers in the rear with longer shackles and some blocks (have trail gear springs to go with it, just not installed at the moment)
-35" BFG's
-marlin sliders
-Marlin 5.29 gears
-Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks
-35" spare mounted to roll bar
-marlin high steer
What I have done in the last 6 months (literally wheeled twice since all this stuff was NEW)
-trail gear front tube bumper
-trail gear rear tube bumper with optional side braces
-custom long spline driveshaft
-Smittybuilt xrc10 winch with synthetic line and cover. Wired for remove and hard wired onto dash switch
-magnaflow 2.25" muffler and new piping. Exits behind rear wheel (no stink inside with back window open) also still has a good working catalytic converter.
-trail gear dual case 3/8" thick steel skid plate, new trans mounts
-trail gear diff armor (front and rear)
-trail gear axle truss
-diff vents extended
-marlin shifter bushing
-removable mud flaps to keep the boogy man happy
Maintenance
-full tune up using oem parts (plugs, wires, cap, rotors, coolant temp sensor, coil, valve adjustment etc)
-Egnblder metal backed timing chain kit
-engine oil, trans oil and diff oil changed
-ebrake adjusted and working
I am sure there is more I am missing. I will take some current pics with it all cleaned up and winch installed this week if the rain ever stops. It looks really nice when washed up, gets compliments any time I drive it around town. Wouldn't hesitate to hop in and drive straight to the west coast. Its hard to list this for sale, but I don't see myself using it any more often than I have, and I need a tractor for property maintenance. Can't afford to have both. Wheels awesome.
More pics coming.
and a video of it wheeling up a nasty slimey climb
$6000 you wont find one nicer inside and out that is this well set up. Willing to work with you for shipping or a fly and drive. I live an hour from BTV international airport. Could pick you up.

A couple other details,
-mileage is 246k, 22re rebuilt 90k ago professionally.
-comes with factory toyota service manual
-diff vents are run up high
Here are a few pics from tonight. Damn camera has a scratched lens so close ups inside get a bit blurry. I also included a few just to show the body seams, a bit muddy but no rust at all.
This weekend the weather should be nice and I can get it outside, wash it off and show how nice it cleans up.
Interior cleans up nice. Only thing that isnt nice about the interior is the sloppily run wires to the sub and amp. Came that way to me, and i never got around to re-running them. It all works well, just not a pretty install.

If it doesn't sell, please call me at 857-600-6205. I will be in Vermont this weekend, and will be driving right by you on my way up Rt. 7 from Danby to Charlotte on Saturday. My GF is a Middlebury grad so she will probably want to stop in the area anyway.
