beadlocks aren't illegal... they're not DOT approved.

ha virginia aint bad at all,not like california at all. lol but who really needs beadlocks unless you wheel 99.9 percent? i do think if i had a runner like his i would keep 15 or 16" rims on it but thats just me. haha

well ya see...beadlocks would never serve me any good????

i don't ever EVER wheel in situations where i would have to air down passed 15psi...and i've NEVER aired down before, even when i had my swampers on the '86.

everybody has their own opinions, nobody is hurting my feelings lol

and btw, i seen a set of 285/70R17 Hankook M/T's on a newer F-250, and they looked pretty good size lol..should look great on the runner

well... the cool thing about beadlocks is the eaton ones look like cragar soft 8s, so if you wanted the look of those rims plus beadlocks. you get the whole package. plus with beadlocks you can add that cool little lip that adds a nice look to the rims. but to each their own. I dont run beadlocks. Im running 15" cragar soft 8s, or 15" pro comp rock crawler D shaped rims.

i do too! but jeez they're heavy...thats the only reason i'm gong with aluminum rims...weight savings...that's the reason i'm going with 285/70's instead of 33x12.50's too

see the plan is..lighten the 4runner as much as a i can..try to get some good mileage out of it!

LITTLE bit skinnier tires (the 285x70's), lighter weight rims,ISR mod, my custom crossover delete exhaust system, synthetic gear oils in my tranny, t-case, and front and rear diffs...with synthetic oil in the motor after about 10,000 miles.

i think that right there will get me to 18..as long as i'm not hard on it of course..i imagine i will get about 12 or 13 for the first few months lmao with the rebuilt motor and all that newfound "power" (more than the 22R in my '86).

of course some 315/70's, some 5.29 or 5.71 gears, front badland bumper, rear marlin, rock sliders (more for use as steps..don't judge me LOL) and a front 10,000lb smittybuilt with synthetic rope..that should bring me down in mileage quite a bit LOL

so another wheel choice just came BACK to mind..

Ion Alloy's 174's

it's a rim kinda like MT Classics..except the holes are bigger, and it has a fake beadlock ring lookin dilly on it.

they look rather nice to me though and come in 17x9's as well....but the Ultra's look amazing lmao

man, nothing gets passed 1981 yota

if ya missed the first page lol, i'm kinda fond of big rims..but i don't want 20's on the 4runner..i think it would look like poop..tires for 18's cost more than tires for 20's..so 18's are out of the question..17's are becomming a very popular wheel size with stock vehicles. which means that tires are very expensive with the..not much above a 16" wheel in terms of price.

i could do 15" wheels and 16" wheels..but if i'm going to buy some wheels NEW, then they're gonna be some AMAZING LOOKING 17's lmao like the Ultra's

anybody got any MT classic lock II's for sale? lol
16x8
16x10's MAYBE lol

i would settle for a set of rims similar to the MT's... like Ion wheels #174's..or some pro comp alloy's..

i just like the "bullet hole" look..and the bigger the "bullet holes" the more i like em...

which is one of the reasons i like the Ion #174's..pretty big holes lol

i don't want 16x10's..my tires are only about 11.5" wide..8's will fit better than 10's.

and i just found these *drool* http://dallas.craigslist.org/ndf/pts/1848254281.html

that's about a 3 hour drive from where i'm currently working.. but i have some friends from Dallas that work with me

i'm going to talk to them and see if they can pick em up for me...MAYBE..

i'm going to keep looking to find a set of 16's for cheaper, i'd rather not drop $1200 on rims and tires lol

if i could just get 4 of those rims for $425 or something that would be more intriguing..
