Dr. Zhivago

I just ran across these today while surfing over at TireRack.

Here's a few pics of them:





Has anyone seen these in person or has run them or knows anything about them? They sure look sweet. $129 each in 265/75/16. I called a few local dealers and they have them. 4 of them installed is $628 out the door.

I may have to go look at these soon. Unless anyone has some negative experience with them...

I hear the name Firestone and I cringe... only because of the whole tread fiasco a few years back. I doubt they still have that problem.

Those tires look an awful like the BFG MT KM's, and that price is a whole lot better than the BFG's. I say get em.

Wow! Looks like they even accept studs! Too bad they're Firestone. I've never seen a good tire from Firestone (before or after the Exploder problems). If it's the tread pattern you like, shop around. If it's the stud factor, ask for the opionion of the folks in the Great White North or check out the Dunlop Radial Rover RT.

I know what you mean about Firestone. They give me the creeps. But it sure looks like a nice tire. I am not too interested in the Rover RT, but the MT looks decent. I am considering those too.

Oops, I just checked out Bridgestone/Firestone's site and it is a 3-ply body construction. Just to prove I'm not crazy, I had the impression it was only 2-ply from this site:

They come with a 60,000 mile treadlife warranty - might be worth checking out. You should take advantage of their 30-day test drive.

Hey Phong,

I looked at that article, but it talks about the Destination LE, and not the MT's. I do know that they are a 3-ply Body construction and have a 30 day money-back trial. I'll have to see what kind of Mileage warranty they have, and if it is indeed 60K. I'll post that info here.

I asked about them a while back - seems as there is little/no info on them as yet. My firestone dealer has them in stock... very cool looking tire. The pics don't do them justice. 3ply might be a little light for some, depending on how you wheel your rig. I'll probably look into a set next summer when my current tires expire.
