Narrow tire decision, what should I run?

i knew someone who had 33x9.5 tires and what i was told is that driving local or to and from trails there ok but he wouldnt recommend for a daily driver. if it was me id get some 33x10.5 km2 for 2 reasons. 1) the tire and that size has been tried and tested over and over again 2) when you do sas it will be a fast and easy sell cause people are always looking to buy them.

I'm already planning an SAS on my truck. Im gonna be going with 35x12.50R17s i think. Im gonna go with a shorter shackle up front, with the 3" TG kit and try and make the 35s look big. ( i love the look of big tires on a small lift ) and i'll be converting the rear to chevy 63s, and putting a currie sway bar on the back. should be a good ride and nice flex!
Your SAS will be about the same height as mine when it's done.
I think the Super Swampers might be a bit extreme for the trails you do, terrible tread life even offroad. And you already love KM2's anyway! And your 4runner looks great wearing them too.
I like the look of Swampers, but man those are just so skinny. That pic of the LC reminds me of one of those corn harvesters that are super tall, but have really tall skinny tires.

If BFG made the Krawler in a 33x10.5 i'd be all over that...
My only concern with any of the interco's is the tread life.
I would go with the BFG's and I plan to for my next set of tires. That could be a ways off because I drive like 6000 miles per year.
I've had 3 of my mastercrafts for over 6 years and the other 2 for a little more than 4.

That's what i'm leaning to right now.
Brian, your 33 x 12.50's looked that way because of your wheel backspacing. Mine don't stick nearly as far out as yours. With that said, mine do rub on the frame in the rear at full articulation. But only by a little. I might be able to prevent that with something as small as a 1/8" spacer if they make them. And my rear frame is plated. I am pretty sure it wasn't rubbing before 1/8" plate back there.
I'm very set on a tall skinny tire.
I really like my 33x10.5 KM2's. I have had them for about 10 thousand miles now and they are holding up great. I think the next set I get will be BF A/T though, maybe in the 33x9.5.
I read that the Super Swamper Narrow should not be driven on the road very much, but they do look awesome. I am sure they would do amazing off road.

This has pretty much sold me, that looks awesome! Have you taken them off-road at all? How do the sidewalls flex at that size? Mine are kinda stiff even when aired down being a 31x10.5.
If my math is correct, thats a 33.1x10x16 correct? Sounds about the size I want, let me see if the KM2 comes in that size.

I take them off road as much as I can, but not as often as I would like. They will get you where you want to go. I have not really aired them down that much so I can't comment on that.
The KM2's do come in the 255/85 size.

Nothing wheels like a swamper, but they weren't made for pavement.
I ran a borrowed set of TSL radials 34x9.50 for about a month. Weeled in the snow like nothing else, but was less than ideal on the highway.
Go with the BFGs.

If you are thinking 35's one day. I would go with the Super Swamper SSR 35x10.5. But they are pretty expensive.
I have had two sets of those tires (33's and 35's) before and they were great.

And yeah I see that they do come in a 255/85
Hmm. I'll most likely stick with the BFG's.
I need to get pricing and what not at the local 4WD shop but that's an idea.

if you're sas'ing just wait till you do that before u buy tires. I was thinking I'd keep my rig on 33s so I got brand new 33x12.5r15 KM2s.... then solid axled.,
I quickly sold them and went to 5.29s locker etc and new 37 mtrs

I'd hate to see you drop all that coin on tires that you might not want after the SAS.

I think if you're going to do the SAS this year, you should just wait on tires if you can. Once it's done you can measure and/or test fit 33s, 35s, etc. to see what fits and looks best.
