Aftermarket wheels, only with manual hubs?
I couldn't find the answer so maybe you guys can help me out. I have a 1990 4runner (stock) and I want to put some aftermarket wheels on it. Looking through the pic thread it looks like I can only get decent looking wheels with manual front hubs.
I bought some wheels from Discount Tire and they didn't fit over the auto hubs. They wanted me to buy 16" wheels but they looked like butt compared to the 15" wheels. I got my money back and now I'm looking for wheels that fit.
Will manual hubs open up more options for me?
What is the hub size, auto vs. manual?
On a 15" x 8" rim, what backspacing should I run so the wheels aren't so sucked in like stock? Going to run a 31x10.5, no lift.
Thanks!
Edit, just found the tire and wheel section. Will search there, but answers here are still welcome

I don't recall there being a difference in dia between the manual hubs and the drive flanges that were originally on my Runner with the ADD system(which you should probably have, not the autohubs). I think the wheels you got were the right bolt pattern, but meant for a Chevy. The center hole is smaller on stock Chevy wheels, but I was also under the impression that aftermarket wheels were all at least the diameter of the Toyota hubs, but maybe not.

Some aftermarket wheels meant for newer 6-lug Toyotas have a smaller flange over the hub pilot diameter. That said, the hub pilot diameter is the same on all Toyota truck 6-lug wheels. That's why they still work on your rear axle, but not your front.
I had mine put on a lathe and turned too. Its was $20/wheel. Close (very) counts because they are stud/lug centered wheels.

I know how to use a tape measure, its hard to do so when the wheels are on and the truck isn't with me.
Sooo....
Does anyone know the hub bore diameter on a stock wheel for a 1990 4runner.
