33s to 35s question.

OK hey all i have 33x12.5x20 nitto mud grapplers on my truck but they weight a ton!!!They are one size to small so ill be going up to a 35.The tires I am looking at wieght 12 pounds lighter a piece and the rims are 15 inches big so Ill be cutting back on a lot of weight.

The truck has a 2.7l with a 5spd and 4.56 gears front and rear it turns these 33s over pretty well.I know when you go up a tire size you lose rpms and that hurts gas mileage but since Im cutting back on so much un-sprung weight.Do you think ill lose any performance or gas mileage in the truck?

4.88's if its somewhat of a DD is what I would go with, if you're going to go through with gearing the front and the rear.

You actually gain RPM's from going lower in gear size, noticeable at freeway speeds.

damn,I typed it wrong lol I know all about gearing and when i get around to it ill be going to 5.29s for the 35's but what i was asking is how much of a difference is going from 33s to 35s gonna make since im cutting roughly 75 pounds of un-sprung weight off.

gotcha ha, yeah 5.29's would hook up nice with 35's.

I don't personally know how much more wheel bump you will be getting compared to your old tires, but I think that you should be ok with the unsprung weight.
