A couple 3RZ questions
I'm looking to swap a 3RZ into my '81 and am hoping to find a decent deal on a rolled/wreaked Taco so I can get everything I need outa one truck.
My questions for you guys are:
1) How many miles on one of these trucks (max) would you think for still having a reliable engine without having to do major work? I plan on belts/timing/water pump ect, type stuff, probably, but don't want to get something just to rebuild it.
2) What kind of money seems reasonable for something like this? (decent miles salvage title 3RZ taco)
3) What kind of reliable miles are people getting outa these engines without major problems?
4) Specific years to avoid or that are more desireable?
Any other guidance is helpful! Thanks guys!

I paid $450 for a 3rz w/ bellhousing, full wiring harnes (body, dash, motor), ECU. The motor had spun the #1 bearing so I'm in the middle of a complete rebuild. The more desirable motors have coils instead of a distributor. There are a lot of 3/2RZs that get 200k before needing any major work, including the timing chain.
