If I'm going to keep my R12 system, I pretty much have to keep my amplifier for the current system. Yet I'm still unclear on what I have to do differently to get it to work with my new engine if I'm keeping it the same. I'm sure I'll see it when I tear into it but I'd welcome any enlightenment on what the amplifier does and how it interfaces during an engine swap.

if you run a thermostat switch to the evaporator, (and in-line with the clutch power wire) it will cycle on and off and prevent freeze ups automatically. I just finished getting mine working. I wasn't about to swap out every sensor/switch and the amplifier. Make sure the hot wire is attached to an "ignition on" wire so you don't kill your battery if you forget to turn it off. Good luck
