I have a leak too. There is an electrical connector in the side that has an 0-ring for a seal and that is where mine leaks. It is a very slow leak so I haven't messed with it.

Power steering pump leak is a fairly common thing on old 2nd gens. 3.0, right? Toyota has a seal rebuilding kit for about $35. I just had a garage rebuild mine and with labor it was $330.

Well I'll chime in I guess, because mine has a slow leak as well. One of the board members found that his hose had gone bad where it connects to the pump. He replaced the hose and it was fixed. The dealer told me I needed a new pump and I can't remember the amount but it was way too much. I don't have to refill it that often.

It might just be the seals have dried out from age. Mine was leaking slowly (add about once every 1 1/2 weeks) and I decided to try some PS pump leak stopper from O'Reilly figuring it couldn't hurt. Adding that stuff two times has stopped my leak completely.
Just a thought.
Just a thought.

i too have a leak. i havent researched it enuf to see from where... but yeh.. it leaks slow! its been doing it for a while... but since i put in the anti leak stuff it fixed it.
i have a 3.0 in it and makes some noise when i turn. thats normal yeh? just A LOT of noise is not good...??
but now recently it started again. i went on a 4 day trip to the river and left my truck in the driveway. when i got home i had a pool of powersteering fluid. so i filled it.. the dipstick read empty.. so now it leaks. imma have to research this some more. :T

Reman pumps run about $100 at NAPA. Might be worth a look if you consider the labor cost of replacing the seals. Removal / Installation isn't that hard, just be sure to squirt some pentrating oil or PB Blaster on the nuts & bolts a couple of days beforehand (especially the pulley nut). Take out your battery to give you some extra room and to avoid a potential fireworks show.
