89 to 88 22re swap
I have a 1988 4x4 extra cab that needs an engine, and trans/t-case. I also have a 89 4x4 extra cab that is wrecked. My plan is to pull everything from the 89 as one unit, ecu included, and put in the 88. Does anyone see any issues i may have with transmission wiring, sending units, or anything else? Thank you.

The 89 is the newer body style. My 85 below, someone tried to do the same thing and it was a big mess. Using the newer harness with the older body style I am sure can be done but I would not recommend it.
Why you needing to swap harnesses? The drive train will work. I had to swap harnesses on my 85 and have a ton of information if you need to swap one that will save you alot of headaches. Such as a standard cab main harness will work, the extra length is made up in the tail light fuel harness. 3 different styule pugs are used depending on what year you use.
If you need more information, PM me as it would take a book to answer several questions on this.
