Thanks for the advice guys.
Deep down, I want a Tundra - I always have. It's been my dream car/truck for the past 4 years.
Since I can't afford a Tundra right now, a Tacoma is a good compromise. I have always regretted selling my first Tacoma and I loved it.
I don't need 4WD, that's a reality down here.
With that being said, I'm taking a drive up to a Toyota dealership in Jacksonville (that has the Tacoma for sale) to see what they've got.
They offered me $21,500 after some serious negotiations. That's an insanely good price as you can get a new Xterra for about $22k if you go with online pricing.
I've had it narrowed down to a 3rd gen or a Tacoma for a while now so I know I'll only be looking at those two vehicles - just need to crunch the numbers and see what makes the most sense.
Thanks again for all of the advice - keep it coming and I'll be sure to post back up and let you guys know what I end going with.

She says as long as it isn't her money and she doesn't have to make any decisions, she's happy.
She's riding up there with me so we'll see how long she feels that way - it's a two-hour drive and I'm sure I'll be at the dealership for another two hours or so.
I'm also stopping at my company's Data Center up there so that will be a nice little post-dealership surprise for her.

Well...I'm officially back in a Toyota...
2011 Tacoma DC TRD Off-Road
The price was unbelievable - $25,700 and they offered me $22,000 for my Xterra. I couldn't say no.
Not only that, but they saved me $80 in gas driving up to Jacksonville and back and they financed the difference at 0% for 48 months. Of course, I guess that's easy with that kind of LTV.
I'm stoked - so much more stoked than I was when I got the Xterra. That's how I know I made a good choice.
Ordering the WeatherTech's as we speak...
