not a good price for a truck that needs work...and from what ive heard the turbo trucks are more trouble than the extra 20hp is worth. Thats what i paid for my 4runner that was in much better condition and it was one of the higher priced ones ive seen around here.

yeah the turbo is more of pain then anything, offer him and see what he says, heck id even start at 1000, give literally ( previous post wasn't being sarcastic) 15-20 hp and maybe 2-3 better mpg, most likely has rust, and if it needs ring then the head gasket and machine job is going to be worthless anyways because it has to be re-done again (work at a machine shop)

Red face

I was not aware that the 22 r series engines had more than one head??

Nor that the Tacoma was made in the eighties!!

Way to much money Last one I bought was $1000.00 the one before $800.00 both came with a bunch of extra parts.

I think it is closer to a 40 Horsepower gain.

If your looking for performance the 3.4 a lot better bang for the buck.

Because the trucks are rare people tend to get excited about them.

Price sounds like he is trying to recoup his loot for the turbo rebuild, truck looks far from clean.

Way overpriced but as said above people think they are gold due to the turbo I would pass for the price unless he would come down, go check it and see what he will take that's about all you can do.

So he de greased the top of the engine but left the reenactment of the Exxon Valdez on the underside?

I would pass unless you can get it for $1000.

Best be willing to sink a fair amount of cash into these trucks but it can be fun. parts are getting harder to find.
