daaaaamn! sounds like i missed some fun again! i believe most (all?) of corys damage was after i left? too bad. had a grand time. looking foward to November trip.
EDIT: Well I take that back. I was in the truck for the decarbonizing of cory's engine, and present for the electrical woes.

Yeah, most of the actual trail carnage was after you left... but you missed another pointless night run down some gravel roads on Saturday night. We found out later that the trail we were looking for was a RIGHT turn off the road, not the LEFT turn we spent TWO nights and over 100 miles trying to find. So maybe we'll find it next time At least we ended the night with some OK trails. But we had to turn around a lot... which was complicated by the fact I didn't have power steering and was too lazy to get out and lock my hubs.
Sunday was beatiful though. Excellent weather, good wheeling... though we spent too much time doing about 4 additional repairs to Cory's battery. That two step waterfall I showed you on Friday we hit on Sunday. I got up on the 2nd attempt, Cory made 3-4 attempts and then gave up cause he was afraid of breaking something. Gary popped his front tires up the first ledge and then gave up... I don't think he expected to make it that far! We ran the obstacle course... which was a complete walk despite being completely wet. Did a few hill climbs and then ended with a short wooded trail run. Everyone decided to give up after that since it was nearly 2pm, Cory had damaged his truck, and we damn near tore the crap out of Gary's. He got stuck between a tree and a huge boulder. We had to move the ~300 lbs boulder out of the ground and off the trail so he could get out.
That really nasty hillclimb I showed you on Friday, just down the hill from the waterfall, a guy in a heavily built jeep with 35's made it up on Sunday. I was really temped to try (and the whole peanut gallery wanted to watch me try), but I chickened out due to the lack of a roll cage. It's kind of like the stuff in the campground I was trying to go up... only if I rolled I'd roll 100', not 10'.

sounds like a good time. woulda loved to see that waterfall action.
just curious... did your bumper stay on the back of the truck where we strapped it, or did you put it on the trailer or in the dodge?
great weekend, and i made it back with enough dew for 1-a-day (breakfast) until i get paid on thursday.
looking at a locker for the rear for x-mas from the parentals.... if they don't pay for all, which it's highly unlikely that they will, i'll pay the other fraction thats left, and hopefully have a locked rear by jan/feb.
also, Hans you have a PM waiting.

Ya, me brokey the trucky... besides what hans has listed above, it appears I bent an A-Frame and both braces between the lower a-frames (still checking into the extent of the damage).
Was a great time though!

Well, that IFS stuff probably wasn't from this trip... just cumulative damage. I know I've mentioned to you before how out of whack your front end looked going down the road.
My front pinion seal is leaking pretty bad... it left a 3" diamter spot on the trailer. I'm scared I crushed a crush sleeve.... that would explain that clicking noise that comes and goes randomly when the front axle is spinning.
I unhooked the trailer from the truck... but left the Toy on it. It's going to Disney as is. Thank you GM of China!

Well, the bent braces and bent a-frame are from this trip, cause the damage wasn't there after last trip, however it all added up with previous damage lends to a more outta whack front end...

Oh, and I because of time constraints, the truck is goin right back on the trailer for the next trip... so hopefully it'll make it through without some front-end relubing.... (I think it'll make it through the trip, just not too much further than that...)
And I'll post up some pics here shortly....
Hans, any pics? And tell Gary he'll be getting some pics for Tommy, along with that number for the trailer place in his email box at work.

Yeah... my front bumper was still on in that picture, that was EARLY in the weekend!
Yours is the 2nd IFS truck I've seen try to climb that ledge.... and the 2nd that was out of whack after the attempt. At least the first guy made it... with an open front end!
As for the grease thing.... Check pirate today for a thread about another grease challenged individual. At least you catch yours before EVERYTHING in the front end gets torn up. Cant you install a grease zert to help out there? But I agree, keep it off the road and you should be fine at Disney. We'll never go over 15 mph.

Hey guys I looked for you but no luck but no big deal maybe next time where is the November trip going to be? I have some great pics of a bunch of the guy's in big rigs running "PURE HELL" one of the hardest trails out there I rode with the guy driving a 80's model blazer 4dr painted yellow and it said the short bus on the side he was running 49" Iroks and 2 1/2 ton rockwell's with rear stear and it was crazy fun we almost put it over a few times from being so off camber but it was a blast I'll try to post some pics after work.

Yeah, Pure Hell is a good trail. I was really hoping to run it this weekend, but we got stuck on the 5 hour trail ride from hell, then spent 1 hour in the food line (or so it seemed). And by that time we were thirsty and had to go drink some beer. Then on Sunday I didn't see anyone attempting it, and I wasn't up for a solo run.
