Question rear axle housing problems

Hello. I have a 93 T-100 4x4 V6 5spd. I recently dicscovered that my axle housing is cracked and leaking gear lube. it cracked on at the welds on the passenger side spring perch. 3 sides around th welds are cracked. Anyone ever run into this problem? I work at a toyota dealer and have never seen or heard of this happening on any toyota trucks. Also, if anyone has a rear axle housing or complete rear end for sale I might be interested. I am going to try to weld the cracks but not sure how long it will hold. Any help would be great. Thanks. I don't think that's a common thing on a truck that's not beat on off road. I've heard of 1 person having the link brackets on a 4runner tear off, though.

Seen a half dozen between the T-100 and the Taco.

The perches make things ugly.

Take a look at a new housing, but know if it is stock, it will happen again.

I had mine crack under the spring perches. I went ahead and replaced the house altogether. I believe you could just weld it up.

Angry

Well, welded the rear end up about a month ago. was looking around last week and found that it is leaking again from the same spot. I havent figured out if it is coming from the welds or was cracked farther Than I had welded. If anyone has one for 93 4x4 please let me know. I think I might have a friend tig weld it this time. Or, If anybody knows where I can get a beefier aftermarket let me know. open to any suggestions. Thanks.

you can use one from any v-6 truck up to 95. 2nd gen 4Runner rear ends will be using coil springs so those won't work unless you cut up the coil pads and add new perches...
Check on craigslist...They come up all the time (at least around the PNW) just never when I have the extra cash , need one for my '81.

very common on the early T100s, many who reweld them have not had any further problems...
