Well what have you checked so far??

Did the blubs burn out??

Did you tear or damage the wires in some way???

Are the sockets corroded ??

Does this vehicle have a alarm??

I doubt it's bad bulbs or sockets. What are the odds that both would go bad at the same time? Anything is possible tho so go ahead and check them. It sounds to me that the problem is upstream in the circuit. Of course, start with the easiest and most obvious...the fuse. If thats good then move on to the switch and wiring. Turn the switch on and check for voltage at the sockets. If you have that then you just eliminated both of them as the problem. Move on to the secondary side of the sockets and check your wiring and ground. If not then you know it's one of those two. Turn the switch on and check for continuity thru the switch with your multi-meter (if you don't have one you should). If that checks out move on to the wiring. Make sure the ground is solid and work your way along the wires checking for cuts or breaks inside the insulation. Bend the wire. If it's broken inside the insulation it will bend a lot easier at that spot than anywhere else. If you find a broken wire make sure you use a crimp-style butt splice to fix it. Please do yourself a favor and don't use a wirenut anywhere on your truck.....they hate vibration.
